Benefits of drinking water
It is common knowledge that keeping our bodies hydrated is not only good for our long term health but also has immediate effects such as improved concentration and increased energy levels.
The main problem is that tap water does not taste pleasant to most people and the taste varies depending on its source. The solution is to filter the water, removing chlorine and other impurities and then chill to produce water that is pleasant to drink.
A fruit flavour can be added to encourage water consumption, children can choose to drink from a cup or fill a water bottle.
Water in schools
Drinking water and keeping hydrated throughout the day helps to increase children's alertness, making them more ready and able to learn at school. This means that pupils should not only have free fresh drinking water with school dinners but that it should be available throughout the day.
